I make art. My process has evolved over time to include a wide range of media including video, photography and painting on found or recycled objects. One time someone bought a piece and then later realized it was painted on the back of a drawer. I think there's something beautiful about the transition of an object from trash to artwork. There is a very free feeling when working on a piece of trash because it's not an expensive canvas. I can just throw it out whenever I want and it doesn't matter. Producing prolifically means I give a lot of work away and mount in public space, where the found object originated if possible. I feel like a proud parent. "Now get out there and be somebody, Art!" It's interesting when I return and the piece is gone. I wonder if it's bringing someone joy in a living room somewhere. Or if it's back in a dumpster. Either way it is now art, with passion and meaning to it's life, and not just a dumb drawer.

About Parker
Born exactly seventy-five years after his grandfather in Greenwich, Connecticut, Parker later received his bachelor’s degree in design arts from Lehigh University. He traveled to Hollywood for a career in filmmaking by ways of video editing for television shows, creating his own short films and animating motion graphics. This post-production based viewpoint gives Parker the unique ability to envision how a script can be shot and edited while writing. When he is not producing his latest video project Parker can be found painting, surfing and keepin it lite.
